When we profiled Stephen Stepanchev, AB’37, AM’38, at age 93, the Serbian-born poet laureate of Queens, New York, had found new “grist for the mill” outside the city in the Hudson Valley. He defined poetry as “the truth of what it’s like to be alive.”
